The latest event in the Run Forest Run series was in the grounds of Antrim castle on Saturday. Rachel Gibson continued her good form with a 3rd place finish in a time of 37:16. Catherine Roberts was next in clocking 43:02 and Clare Kennedy finished shortly afterwards in 43:29. Melanie Patton enjoyed running in a group and despite being held up with the congested start, managed to return in 51:35.
Gavin McDonnell and Ian McCreary came in virtually together in 53:09 and 53:10 followed by Glenn Frazer in 55:02 and Andrea Green 55:18.
The penultimate race in the Sperrin Harriers trail series took place on Saturday at Drum Manor forest with almost 170 runners toeing the line. Frankie Rea was in attendance and recorded 42:53 for 25th place overall and another 1st place in the O60 category.
Sparring partner Brian Geddis failed to make the trip on this occasion, but Frankie graciously declared the personal dual as void this weekend with hostilities returning on 25th February when the series finale takes place at the 10 mile Parkanaur race.
