While most of us had washed and polished our cross country spikes a couple of weeks ago in hope of a warm, dry summer, four of our athletes had one more race across the country having been selected to run for Northern Ireland at the annual end of season event.

All of the runners were up against the best of British and Irish talent and coped very well on a difficult course. Rio Catney wore the NI vest for us in the ladies U20 race and finished 2nd NI runner in 30th position and in the mens U20 race the Ulster U18 and U19 XC champion Craig McMeechan, returned in 23rd.

Recently crowned Ulster Senior Cross Country winner, Jessica Craig showed her strength once again to finish 11th with Rachel Gibson, who finished 2nd to Jessica at the senior, coming home in 20th place.

Michael Dyer and Francis Marsh made a good job of managing the Ulster/NI team with all the travelling to and from the airport for other team members.
