Three North Down athletes made the trip to Athlone on Saturday for the Indoor championships. Rachel McCann was 2nd in her 200m heat recording pb time of 26:28 which was just short of qualifying for the final.
Megan Briggs was 3rd in her heat of the 800m with a time of 2:28:18 and then in the final went a couple of seconds quicker when finishing 7th, 2:26:68.
At her first visit to the Irish Age-group indoor champs Tilly McWhinney won silver with a throw of 8.07m in the U12 Shot Putt. Tilly was in 3rd place after round one and stayed there until the 6th and final round when her 8.07m throw clinched silver.
