Shore 10K Killough & NI Duathlon Victoria Pk 5k

Five of North Down athletes made good use of the 11th night to attend the annual Killough 10k which, by it’s nature doesn’t fail to impress with it’s scenery.

Frankie Rea and Philip Mulligan battled it out for the prestige of first club finisher and Frankie grabbed his opportunity with both hands to finish in a time of 42:32 and 14th place. In the process he took seven seconds out of Philip who finished next, 15th in 42:39.

Andrew Muir, who surveyed the route by air earlier as part of his 40th birthday celebrations, finished 29th in 45:30. John Ferguson was close to Andrew in 31st place recording 45:55 and James Barr was 45th, crossing the line in 48:55.

Flying the flag for North Down at the debut staging of the NI Duathlon 5k at Victoria Pk, Belfast the following day was Keith Gilmore. Instead of starting at the customary position for the Saturday parkrun, it started and finished at the Thompson Bridge. Keith completed the 3 lap race in 20:17 which placed him 18th.
