Mountstewart HM and 10k

The grounds of the Mount Stewart estate provided a picturesque and enjoyable venue for this popular off-road event. The club enjoyed podium finishes in both the 10k and half marathon races as several of our members participated.

 

 

Jack Bradshaw won the 10k race with nearly a minute to spare with a time of 38:17 and Jane Stevenson claimed 3rd place recording 48:35 in the process.  Steven Donegan had a decent run to finish 9th in the 10k timed at 43:22, James Barr was 62nd on 54:52 and Glenn Frazer, Heather Matchett and Gordon Matchett finished together with 1:02:01, 1:02:05 and 1:02:07.  Patricia Nickell made it round in 1:07:03 while Helen Beattie finished with 1:09:57.

 

 

In the half marathon Kerry Speers led the ND team home with a solid 2nd place in 1:34:04 with Catherine Roberts finishing just outside the medals in 4th place registering 1:36:18.  Gerry Irvine trailed Catherine by 2 seconds as he finished 20th, 1:36:20 and Frankie Rea was 34th timed at 1:41:16.  Scott Nelson finished with 1:43:19 which placed 39th and Kevin Mulligan followed in 56th, 1:50:04.  Nicola Newell was recorded 95th clocking 2:02:54, John Ferguson was 103rd on 2:04:58, Ian McCreary 132nd, 2:14:27, Gavin McDonnell 150th, 2:28:22 and Pat O’Driscoll 169th 2:53:03
