Jamie Moffatt was in top form at the Track & Field Live Indoor Meet in Dublin on Wednesday where he won the 60m in 7.03.

17 year old Harrison Jamison , making his North Down AC debut, was 2nd in the 400m in 50.57, taking more than a second off his PB.

Ashley Dixon wins Dundalk Half Marathon, 01/02

3 North Down AC runners travelled to Co Louth on Sunday morning for the Dundalk 10k and Half Marathon. The recent persistent rain gradually lessened as half marathon runners set off on their first loop north from the town. Ashley Dixon and Ricky Jordan raced in the half marathon and after a speedy first lap maintained their pace as they made their way through 10k runners and lapped some more half marathon runners in a busy field with more than 2500 runners. 

Ashley won the half marathon in 1:12:02 and Ricky was 14th in 1:18:44.

Roberta Dornan was 3rd F50 in the 10k in 48:25.

Malcolm Cup XC, 01/02

North Down’s cross country runners were out in force in a muddy Ormeau park on Sunday afternoon for the Malcolm Cup Cross Country races.

The women raced over 3 miles with Claire Tonry taking the win in 19:36 followed by Fiona McQuillan 21:45, Sarah Connolly 21:54 and Clair Quigley 21:31. Sarah Wilson 22:42, Glynis Boyle (2nd F60) 23:45, Abby Andrews 23:51, Heather Beattie 24:35, Claire Scott 24:40, Kim McCourt 26:52, Wendy Neilly 27:11 and Adriene Neill 27:31.

Jason McMinn was NDAC’s first finisher in 32nd place in the mens’ 4 mile race in23:56. Simon Boyle was 3rd M60 in 24:26 ahead of David Massey 25:28, Colin Walker 26:45, Mitchel Brown 27:32, Alan Massey 29:44, Denis Stewart 31:45 and Pat O’Driscoll 45:10.

In the u13 boys’ race Daly Seaton, Casey Seaton and Fox Neill were all running against older athletes but still finished 7th, 10th and 21st respectively. Also running in the u13 girls’ race was Molly Rankin who finished 16th. In the u15 girls’ race, Sophie Rankin was 3rd, Catherine McBrinn 4th and Caitlyn Dickenson 6th. In the u15 boys’ race, Carter Rolston was 2nd, Seb Mair 3rd and Isaac Hall 7th.
