Born 2 Run Gosford, 22/11/25
The beautiful surroundings of Gosford Forest Park near Markethill hosted the latest Born 2 Run 5k and 10k trail races on Saturday. Selina Patchett (30:09) and Donna Sinclair (35:13) tackled the 5k with 10k specialist, Pat O’Driscoll, (1:15:45) opting for the longer distance. The Run Forest Run series continues at Tollymore in 3 weeks.

Rexona Metro Manila, Quezon City 10k, 23/11/25
Cara Jeffrey took advantage of a business trip to the Philippines to pack her running kit and take on a 10k in Quezon City, Manila. The race is part of a series of events around the capital city offering 10 mile, 10k and 5k options. Despite jet lag, heat and humidity she completed the 10k in 1:37:01.

Irish National Senior &U20 Championships, Derry 23/11/25
Several North Down AC cross country runners headed to the Templemore Sports Complex in Londonderry for the Irish National Senior Cross Country Championships and U20 even age groups championships. The challenging cold, wet and windy and muddy conditions tested all the runners against their peers from across Ireland.
Daly Seaton finished 68th in the U12 race, fighting back strongly after being spiked on the second lap.
Sophie Rankin was 12th in the U14 girls’ 3000m race in 10:48 and in the boys’ U16 400m race Carter Rolston finished in 14:28 followed by Sebastian Mair 14:47, James Blease 16:03 and John Kinney 16:11.
The U18 and U20 race over 4500m saw Holly Blease 18:53, Rebekah Laffin 21:26 and Anya Phillips 21:31 all race strongly.
The senior men and women raced over a 7500m course; in the women’s race Tara McDonough was the first of the club’s finishers in 39th against a strong field in 29:43. Amelia Tyler 29:59 was 44th after flying in from Edinburgh for the day, Sarah Grant 30:29 50th and Katie Moore 31:17 63rd. Rachel Gibson rounded off the NDAC squad in 34:15. The top 4 scorers secured 5th place for the NDAC ladies, first team from Northern Ireland.
Craig McMeechan was 30th in the mens’ race in 26:59, leading Mark Carberry 28:22, Daniel Dines 28:27, Luke McDowell 29:57, Jamie McMeechan 31:16, Dean Varley 33:32 and Denis Scott 35:42, running most of the race with 1 shoe! The top 4 scorers took the men’s team into 10th place, 3rd NI & Ulster club.
