The latest event in the British Milers Club tour was at Solihull on Saturday. Three North Down runners arrived at the track in good form with hopes of a fast time.
Michael Dyer did just that running a seasons best 3:52:28 in the 1500M. Rachel Gibson went one better running a personal best of 4:29:37 in her own 1500M, virtually four seconds quicker than she has ever run before. In the very next race Jessica Craig finished in 4:40:26, outside her pb but earlier this year would have featured as a best time, an indication of the steep upward progress of Jessica in recent months.
With further races due in both the Irish Milers and British Milers there are still many opportunities for our track inspired athletes to nudge the bar up.
