The 5th of Born 2 Run’s Run Forest Run 10k trail race series took part in Antrim Castle Gardens on Saturday 27th January and North Down AC were once again well represented by runners who have been enjoying this fantastic series of winter trail events. The series concludes at Castlewellan on 17th February. The Antrim 10k route began in the 400 year old gardens and passed the ruins of Shane’s Castle giving runners some fantastic views of Lough Neagh before returning through the immaculately kept gardens and wood at Castle Gardens.
First of the club’s finishers and first F45, 6th woman overall, was Roberta Dornan in 43:42. Mick Hall finished in 52:45 ahead of Ben Driscoll 53:09, Glen Frazer 57:22, Sandra Hall 58:14 and Pat O’Driscoll was wisely conserving some energy for cross country the next day and completed the trail race in 1:15:56.
