The annual 7 mile road race starting and finishing in the village of Camlough and running around Camlough Lake took place on Sunday 17th December. Runners were encouraged to wear Christmas attire and rewarded with a functioning snow globe medal afterwards! 5 club runners made their way from North Down to South Armagh, Andrew Muir who finished in 54:09, taking more than 2 minutes off last year’s time. Mick and Sandra Hall recovered quickly from their race at Tollymore yesterday; Mick ran 1:04:57 and Sandra beat her PB by more than 2 minutes to finish in 1:14:54. Andrea Green may not have raced 10k at Tollymore on Saturday, but instead used a speedy park run at Crawfordsburn as her warm up for the 7 mile race and she also smashed her PB at the distance by 2 minutes finishing just behind Sandra in 1:14:57. Pat O’Driscoll’s Santa hat signalled to the marshals that the course was now clear as he rounded off the list of finishers in 1:42:48.
