Monkstown Spartans AC Belfast Zoo 5k – Belfast 26/03/23
North Down AC despatched 3 of its fastest zoologists to Cavehill on Sunday 26th March to run a hilly 2 lap course in the grounds of Belfast Zoo. Despite the race’s tagline, “the mane event,” no lions were released to “encourage” runners back up the hill on lap 2! Mackenzie Eager rivalled the resident cheetahs as the first female finisher in 13th place overall in 21:28. After 2 PBs each in the previous 3 days, Sarah Gibson and Paula Simpson were content to keep ahead of most of the field, and all the wildlife, in 24:18 and 27:56 respectively.
