A beautiful summer evening welcomed in excess of three hundred athletes to the coastal town for the 4th annual running of the Donaghadee 5k, with all proceeds going to the RNLI. In keeping with the previous year, the route took participants on a two lap jaunt around the commons, starting on the pier and finishing just up the road from the community centre.
North Down AC was represented by a half dozen athletes, Philip Giles the first club member across the line in 22:02 (45th place), with Alan Hughes (22:04) just behind in an impressive 47th. Davie Seaton was first in his age category with 22:49, while Cliff McCausland posted 23:03 and John Ferguson 23:15. Noreen McCausland rounded out club representation in 30:26 on another well organised event by our friends at Dee Runners.
