Annadale Striders hosted their highly competitive Evening of 3000s races at the Mary Peters Track on Friday 2nd June. Rachel Gibson took her 3rd win in a week clocking 9:38.52 to lead the women’s race across the finish line. Craig McMeechan came close to winning the men’s A race with a fiercely close race going into the last lap, with six in contention. A fast lap saw Craig move into the lead with 200m to go, but eventually he had to settle for 2nd in 8:25.40 (still a PB). In the men’s B race, Chris Moran set a fine 9:22.98PB, with Jamie McMeechan clocking 9:28.59 not far behind. Jack Russell set another big PB in the C race with a storming last lap for 9:28.59 with Francis Marsh setting a season’s best of 9:48.07.
