A number of North Down AC’s junior athletes were in action at Mallusk on Wednesday 8th February having qualified for the Ulster Schools finals at qualifying events last month.
The top 3 teams and the top 15 runners in the minor, junior, intermediate and senior boys and girls categories qualify for the all Ireland finals on11th March in Waterford. Those in the mini category go no further this year, but based on their fine performances will surely be in contention for the all Ireland finals in the future!
Mini girls – Isla Wiltshire 1st, Coco Smith 10th, Freya Lowry 74th. Sullivan Upper (Isla and Coco) 1st team.
Mini boys – James Blease 23rd.
Minor girls – Erin Playfair 38th.
Minor boys – Alex Downey 4th, Ethan Constable 13th – both qualify.
Junior girls – Holly Blease 8th (qualifies), Anna Moran 74th
Junior boys – Aodhan Keag 11th (qualifies), Jude Jenkins 84th
Inter girls – Becka Laffin 12th (qualifies), Lauren Cheatley 32nd, Ellie Dines 57th, Eimear Mulligan 66th
Inter boys – Oliver Playfair 12th (qualifies)
Senior girls – Mac Eager 18th, Connie Hannah 19th (both qualify with Strathearn who were 2nd), Lucy Cheatley 23rd
