While most of the weekend’s half marathon action took place in the rain in Belfast, Alison Crozier chose the much more scenic option of the Causeway Coast half marathon in glorious Saturday sunshine. The Causeway Coast events also include an ultramarathon, marathon and 10k. Starting at Larrybane Quarry by the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, the half marathon runners ran through the picturesque Ballintoy Harbour and passed cows wandering along Whitepark Bay beach before climbing and descending as they followed the coastline past Dunseverick Castle and the Giant’s Causeway to the finish line in Portballintrae. Alison and Kevin Martin completed the course in 3:40:09.
