Larne Coast Road 10k, 22/07/23

The Larne Coast Road 10k on Saturday 22nd July offered a fast flat course in drizzly conditions but with little wind to slow some good times. The race started and finished in Ballygally and headed north to a turnaround at Drumnagreagh. North Down AC were impressive with four men in the top 10. Jamie McMeechan was just shy of his recent PB with 33:52 in 5th. Daniel Dines made a fantastic 10k debut run in 6th with 34:03. Chris Moran took his PB below 35mins for the first time with 34:19 after running the first 5 miles with coach Francis Marsh, who set a seasons’ best of 34:34 in 10th. Josh McDowell just dipped under his recent PB with 36:20 in 19th, while 15 year old Chris Belshaw clocked 39.04 in his debut 10k, ahead of his father Chris (39:57). Jodi Smith battled round with a hamstring issue in 41:53 with Lisa McMeechan completing the club outing in 52.05.
