While icy conditions may have affected local races, North Down AC’s Sharron Sykes wasn’t deterred by the winter snow in Chicago as she ran in the Time Travel 10k in a frozen Blue Star Memorial Woods on Sunday 7th January. In a week where North Down’s transatlantic runners were rewarded with some pretty impressive medals for completing various distances Sharron made a strong claim for the best bling of the week – a T-Rex medal complete with sound effects! Sharron completed the chilly trail run in 1:21:04 taking 3rd place in her age group.
