The cross country season is well underway and North Down AC had strong representation at the Billy Neill Playing Fields in Dundonald on Sunday 19th November.
In the junior races Sophie Rankin came 3rd in the U14 girls’ race while in the boys’ events Carter Rolston was 5th. Alex Downey also finished 5th in the U16 boys.
The John McKeag Cup, remembering the late stalwart of Ballydrain Harriers, was the prize for the senior womens’ race over 5.5k and this year the North Down womens’ team won the cup, with the top 4 scoring team members being of Fiona McQuillan, Sarah Grant, Roberta Dornan and Clair Quigley.
The 6 scoring members of the senior mens’ team who claimed 3rd place in the Comber Cup over 8k were Craig McMeechan (in 2nd place overall,)Ashley Dixon, Jamie McMeechan, James Graham, David McKeague and Jonathan Gibson.
