AAI National Senior Track & Field Championships

A busy weekend at Santry saw the national senior championships following on from the Tailteann Games. The heats were on Saturday with finals on Sunday meaning double journeys for some of our athletes.

Ben Reynolds not only won the 110M hurdles but he ran inside the qualifying time for the European Championships in the process with 13:89. In the same race Tom Reynolds doubled the medal count with 3rd place in 14:96.

In the mens 400M Adam McComb ran a pb time of 47:64 when finishing 7th while Laura Saulters landed agonisingly 1cm short of her pb when taking bronze in the triple jump.

In the mens Javelin Michael Gaffney’s best throw was 54:49 which was a pb throw and also placed him 8th.

We also had two North Down runners in the womens 1500M final where Rachel Gibson finished 4th with 4:34:21 and Jessica Craig 7th in 4:37:28. The last individual race of the championship saw Michael Dyer run 4:02:77 to finish 4th.
