It has now been officially confirmed that Catherine Roberts is the winner of her category F40 in the lucrative but gruelling Pure Running Half Marathon Series for 2014. She completed 8 of the 10 races in the series and with the 6 best times counting, had an aggregate time of 9:08:03 hrs. That was a clear win in the category with a comfortable gap of 14 min. Janice White of Forge Harriers was 2nd with 9:22:22, 7secs ahead of Diane Watson (City of Lisburn) with 9:22:29. Particularly pleasing was that not only Catherine won her category but she was 2nd overall across all the ladies age groups – behind Heather Foley with 8:16:25.
It has been a good year for Catherine. She was top North Down athlete in the 35 – 44 category over the recent cross country season and is guaranteed to win the North Down ladies Grand Prix for 2013 – 2014.
