Jimmy’s Ten

The "Jimmy"s Ten" road race over 10K in Downpatrick on Sunday was run in strong winds and biting cold but still could boast 221 finishers. Tony Wall was first of the all-veteran North Down squad with 38th in 38:45 min while there were category wins from Norman Lellyett at M60 and Debbie Matchett at F40 in 40:30 min and 41:59 min. The race was tight at the sharp end with Joe McAllister winning in 31:19 min from Brian Campbell and Alan McCullough in 31:21 and 31:41 min.

The nine North Down runners were Tony Wall 38th 38:45 (5th M45): Norman Lellyett 53rd 40:30 (1st M60); Simon Cummings 69th 38:45 (7th M35): Debbie Matchett 70th 41:59  ( 1st F40. 7th female): Lynne Kerr 80th 42:51 ( 2nd F40): Roma McConville 114th 45:22 ( 2nd F45): John Monaghan 123rd 48:41 ( 2nd M60): Pat O"Driscoll 147th 52:45 ( 4th M55):  Hugh Young 172nd 57:33 ( 3rd M65).
