Michael Dyer ran 1:53.22 on Wednesday night at Watford in the “A” 800m race. On the same evening at Stormont in the Mizuno Mile Challenge, Kris McKee was the sole NDAC representative, running the distance in 5:03 min. On the previous evening at Mary Meters the third Jumps and Throws Meeting took place. Eva Massey won the shot with 16.14m, Jeremy Harper won the discus with 48.32m and Philip Browne the long jump with 6.17m. Gemma McAnirn threw 20.93m for hammer and 24.47m for discus finishing 2nd woman both times. All 4 athletes will do these events on Saturday in the final of the ESB League at Tullamore. The star on Thursday though was young Miall McGrattan who won the 1996 javelin at the 5th Walsin Meet at Mary Peters with 21.06m – the latest member of the McGrattan dynasty to shine at the event.
