On Saturday the annual Moira XC, was held by City of Lisburn AC within the confines of the scenic Moira Demesne. Held in excellent weather conditions, the full programme started with a 1 Km primary school race in which club athletes Finlay Millar was 15th in 3:31 min, Megan Briggs was 18th (7th girl) in 3:33 and Barney Millar 29th in 3:45. Even better in the 1 mile Year 8 race John McNally was 2nd in 5:24 and Murphy Miller 2nd girl in 5:28 while in the 2 mile Years 9 and 10 race, Jessica Scott was 2nd girl in 11:47 with her sister Anna Scott next girl in 3rd. At Senior level, ladies ran 3 miles with Melissa Eccles 5th in 17:34 and Nikki Heywood 13th in 18:57. Senior men ran 4 miles with Terry Eakin 1st over 60 with 43rd overall in 22:26. Tony Wall, coach of the Junior Squad, was 56th in 24:20 and Norman Lellyett 71st (2nd over 65) in 27:42.
