The 2nd of 3 open meetings for athletes of primary school age was held at Bangor Sportsplex on Wednesday. Sunshine and the relaxed atmosphere enhanced the event and entries continue to increase from meeting to meeting. As well as athletes fom local schools and from Orangegrove, Newry, Ballymena, Springwell and City of Lisburn, there was a big contingent from Loughview PS. North Down athletes did well and embraced the run-jump-throw nature of the event. A big thank you to the volunteers, whether coaches, parents or athletes.
All round athletes who stood out included Rachel Steele (B & A), Felix Arran (Grange PS) and Adam Kane (u/a) at P5, Finlay Miller and Katie Kimber (ND) at P6, and at P7 Jonny Moore (ND), , Ryan Adams (Loughview), Sophie Longstaff and Annabel McNutt (ND).
The next meeting in the series will be on Wednesday 11th June. We hope to present medals at this meeting for leading performance in events and all rounders based on any 2 of the 3 meetings.
