Bangor Sportsplex staged another good meeting on Tuesday evening when the 3rd of the North down Open Series was held. The good weather and large crowd showed that there is a demand for competition at this time of year. There were 5 full heats of 100m races, another 5 at 400m and 3 at 1500m plus a very competitive 3000m and some good throwing. We were pleased to welcome visitors from as far as Derry and County Louth.
There were lots of pb’s throughout for North Down athletes, too many to itemise individually thogh the sprinters in particular were well represented.
As always, we indebted to those who gave up their time to help and to officiate and we thank ANI for the loan of the photofinish equipment from Mary Peters Track. The final meeting in the series will be held on Tuesday 19th August.
