On Saturday many of Northern Ireland’s top track runners travelled to the Morton Stadium, just outside Dublin for the IMC (Irish Milers Club) – Crusaders GV Ryan Track & Field Meet. Michael Dyer, Rachel Gibson and Kenny Elliott all made good use of the fine conditions to record pbs
Michael has had a good period recently with a series of 800m pbs in a row and he had another in the 800m A race. He was 6th in a strong field with 1:50.25 min, still chasing that elusive sub 1:50. In the ladies 1500m A race Rachel ran a new pb of 4:42.43 min in 6th (the results link wrongly has down as Emma Mitchell). Kenny enjoyed two podium finishes, taking 2nd place (11.13secs) in the 100m race won by Paul Whelan (Clonliffe Harriers) in 11.03secs, and 3rd place in the 200m (22.60secs) won by Patrick Whelan (Unattached) in 22.06secs. The 100m was a legal pb and the 200m came very close.
