The third and final meeting of a series for athletes of primary school age was held at the Sportsplex on Wednesday evening.The format has been on the run-jump-throw principle with 60m, 600m and long jump at evry meeting together with a throw which has bee successively javelin, discus and shot. This model has proved succssful with entries increasing progressively meeting on meeting, no doubt helped by the exceptionally fine weather on Wednesday.The meetings have also proved very helful for North Down younger members who have visibly improved their performances over the last few weeks.
Among the many NDAC athletes who have stood out have been Rory Patterson and Flynn Longstaff at P5, Megan Drummond, Katie Kimber, Amelia Tyler, Matthew Campbell and Angus Patterson at P6 and Sophie Longstaff, Megan Briggs, Annabel McNutt, Jonny Moore and Zac Moraghan at P7. The opposition has included athletes from Loughview, Grange and CTR Primary Schools and club athletes from Lisburn, Ballymena and Antrim, Orangegrove, Newry and Willowfield.
A big thank you to all who have helped organise and officiate at all these meetings, especially the many Senior and Junior athletes in the club.
