Berlin Marathon

Near perfect conditions welcomed this year’s Berlin entrants of which 5 were North Down runners.  Darren Hamilton, Paul Floyd, Alasdair Mair and the McCauslands, Cliff and Noreen enjoyed the fast course and the unique occurrence of running in the same race as when the world record was broken with the Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge reducing the mark to 2:01:39.

Darren Hamilton and Paul Floyd have been training together and executed the perfect sub 3 hour run together, clocking 2:57:55.  Alasdair Mair crossed the line with 3:47:59, Cliff McCausland came in with 3:58:30 and wife Noreen made a mark on the marathon scene with a time of 5:11:59.
