After winning the Irish national cross country Craig McMeechan led the Irish U20 men’s team out at Samorin, Slovakia on Sunday.

In freezing conditions, without snow, the course was firm and fast. With the men’s U20 attracting over 100 athletes the typical fast paced start continued throughout the 6.3k race with Craig finishing in 19:30. This placed him in 37th and 2nd Irish runner. Fergal Curtin was the leading Irish runner in 22nd with James Edgar 38th making up the counting 3 with Craig to place Ireland 10th overall from the 20 teams competing.
