Morton Games

There was a wealth of talent on show at the Morton Games on Wednesday where there was a sprinkling of IMC races thrown in.

Rachel Gibson ran in the B 800M race, such was the quality of athletes on show in the A race.   Rachel took the pace on early and led through 400m only to be hunted down on the final stages by the eventual winner, Sophie O’Sullivan. With a commendable time of 2:12:41, Rachel is hoping to go at least one second quicker at La Cheile on Saturday.

Craig McMeechan had a season’s best track race when he finished 3rd in the Morton Junior mile. Pacing the first 3 laps well Craig still found himself with a few places to make up on the 4th. This led to a 59 second last lap where he managed to move up to 2nd place, before losing out on a sprint to the line and finishing with a pb time of 4:22:90.
