Pure Running Runher Delamont Park

Sunday saw our own Michael Jenkins’ Pure Running latest Runher project at Delemont Park. The option of 5K and 10K gave the ladies a choice and we had club runners in each race over the varied and difficult course.

Starting and finishing with approx. 400M of road the in between surfaces varied between forest trail, gravel and grass, with three testing inclines to negotiate on each lap.

Rachel Gibson exhibited her speed and strength in winning the 5k event in 20:05, testament to the difficulty of the course. Diane McCaughan ran very well to take 22nd position and in the process identified the need for some hill training.

Our first finisher in the 10K was Fiona McQuillan who continues her good form, ending the race not far off the prizes in 6th place. Tracy Hodgson finished in 130th to round up another very successful outing for the Pure Running team and for the North Down marshals and runners.
