Michael Dyer ran 15:32 min in Dublin on Saturday when he came 12th in the Jingle Bells 5k Donore Harriers in Phoenix Park . The time is a 5K road pb for Michael, his previous best being the 15:39 min he ran in 2013 at the Armagh International Road Races. Also on Saturday, Darren Hamilton finished his 8th marathon this year at the Clonakilty Marathon in Cork. Darren was 15th overall in a new pb of 3:04.20 hrs. He was 1st in from Northern Ireland. Still on Saturday but in a domestic contest, the first race in the Run Forest Run Trail Series took place over 10K at Minnowbank. In a field of 420, Nick Irvine was 11th (2nd M35), Catherine Roberts was 55th (3rd F40) and Pat O’Driscoll was 240th (ist M65). Catherine is another athlete coming back after a prolonged injury.
