800m Runners Go Well

The first target in any new track season is to set a pb and it’s good to get it out of the way on the opening fixture. The first Lagan Valley Thursday Meet at Mary Peters, now relaunched as the Walsin Series, was a bonanza for 800m runners with pb’s for Jordan Neil, Mark Patterson, Niall Robinson, Jordan Stokes and Matthew McMullan with several other good results all indicating that winter training went well. Richard Lockhart also threw well at discus and hammer in his return to action after a tough couple of years with injury problems. Kerrie Craig won her high jump while young Edward Rogan was the busiest with two seconds and a third in the highly competitive 1996-98 age group.
