Conditions were pretty brutal in Coleraine on Saturday for the Intermediate and Masters XC Championships on Saturday and the size of the small fields was also affected by poor travelling conditions. It was still a poor response by North Down with no women or Intermediate men taking part. Full marks then to the men who took part in the Masters Championship. Darren Hamilton, Mark Weir, Robert Martin and John McGarvey took the challenge and finished 13th team. Darren was first home and was 32nd over the heavy 7.5 K course. Mark had the best category placing with 9th M40. Terry Eakin ran in the separate 4.5 K race for over 65’s and romped home with over 3 minutes to spare.
