North Down athletes had a successful trip to the Irish Milers Club (IMC) season opener at Irishtown, Dublin on Satuday evening. Mark Patterson won the 800m A race in 1:52:03 after tracking the pacer (David McCarthy) for 350m, before losing some metres on McCarthy before hitting the strong backstraight wind – then holding strong in the home straight. Jordan Stokes kicked off the IMC races with 2nd in the 800 B race in 1:59.29pb. Niall Robinson placed 3rd in the 1500, chopping 2.6sec off his pb with 3:57.36. Nicola Simpson continued to show her best ever track form with an 800m pb of 2:20.07.
