Newry Half Marathon

After cleaning up a year ago in the East Antrim Trail Series and Championchip Half Marathon Series, Roberta Dornan has hit the same sort of form again, this time round as an F35. On Monday in the Newry Half Marathon, Roberta was 29th overall, coming 2nd female and 1st  F35 in 87:36 min. Clubmate Gerry Coy impolitely but gleefully overtook Roberta in the finishing sprint to finish 2nd  M50 in 87:32 with Douglas Grant close in 87:56. On a warm day with a stiff headwind in the second half of the race, Sarah Benton had a pb and there were good runs from Simon Robinson, Kate McNeill and Jill Aicken. A week after a full marathon in the Edinburgh heatwave, Pat O’Driscoll heroically came back for more.
