The Irish Schools Champ[onships took place in excellent conditions at Tullamore on Saturday along with several Irish Milers Club races for senior athletes.. Matthew Martin retained his Intermediate javelin title (51.29m) and won bronze at shot (13.39m, 1cm below his pb). Silver went to Kathy Hetherington at Senior discus (35.59m), a pb which extended her club U20 record and a bronze went to the BGS Intermediate 4 x 100m team. From that team Mark Armstrong was 4th at 200m with a pb (22.95 sec) and 4th"s also went to Katie Dickson at Senior triple jump (10.59m) and to Matthew Stockton at Intermediate javelin (42.27m)). Katie also had a 5th at long jump, Kathy was also 6th at shot, Cydnie McCullough 5th at Intermediate 300m hurdles and Niall McGrattan was 6th at Intermediate javelin. Jordan Stokes had a pb (4:05.77) in the Senior 1500m. In the IMC races Niall Robinson had a pb at 1500m with 3:57.34 min and Glen Willis ran 4:63.08 min in the U16 boys mile race.
