It may have been very wet but there were again thousands of girls at Stormont on Sunday when the Belfast Telegraph RunHer, organised by Up and Running, took place with races over 5K and 10K. Roberta Dornan and Jessica Craig are very much RunHer specialists and were once more 1st and 2nd in the 5K race in 19:08 and 19:26 min. This was Roberta”s third win in the 5K race. Top ten finishes came from Ali Robinson, 4th in 20:12 min; Ange Perrott,, 8th in 22:13 and Sarah Benton, 10th in 22:34 min. Diane McCaughan ran 27:33 and in the 10K, Caroline Riddell ran 53:44. Last year Julie Balmer won the 10K and missed out this time due to injury but still made her presence felt.
Full marks to Jessica who answered the track team”s call and headed straight to an equally wet Antrim and complete the 4 x 400m relay team. Not running was Debbie Matchett who ran the Enniskillen 10K on Saturday in a seasons best of 41:40, finishing 3rd lady and 1st vet.
