Roberta in Blackburn

Roberta Dornan reports.               “The 5K route wasnt very kind,  It was very undulating which translates into 3 hills on the way out so there was 3 hills on the way back, there was also a strong headwind for the 2.5k return to the finish line. Anyway the female elite race was won by double olympian athlete Helen Clitheroe. As for Cathy (McCourt) she had a great run in a time of 17.38 not a PB but an excellent time placing her 3rd F35 overall, I had an ok run with a time of 19.04 eight seconds away from my best 5k time so again no PB and placing me 5th F35 overall, but with Helen winning the race and being F35 that bumped Cathy up to 2nd F35 and me up to 4th F35. Stephen McGrory from Annadale Striders was 3rd M40 with a time of 16.11 and thats all the athletes from NI.Such is life I had a good time and I wasnt last which is a bonus.  Ha Ha.  But Cathy and I both passed the female winner of Titanic 10K (Ethiopian Genet Aressedi) so its not all bad.”
