Saturday was a very hot day but the two lap Scott and Gault 10 mile road race in Ballyclare had a good field with the North Down contingent doing well. Simon Seaton in 59:10 min was 1st club runner in with evergreen Terry Eakin next in 63:08 min. Julie Balmer had a good shot at winning the ladies race before coming in at 67:10 min, 5 secs behind Lisa Tracey. The category results were good with Terry 1st M60, Julie 2nd lady, Jill Aicken 1st F35, Sarah Benton 2nd F40 and Pat O’Driscoll 2nd M50. It was a bit hot to expect pbs over 10 miles though most were near and Julie’s time was 2nd on the all time club list after Roberta Dornan earlier this year in Limavady.
