Half a dozen or so of the club"s Monday night group survived the Groomsport Half Ironman last Sunday in the1900m swim, 58 mile cycle and a half marathon run with two doing very well. Les Wilkinson won the O/50s in 5hrs10mins and Gary Swenarton won the over 55s in 5hrs14mins. Alex Donald has had some good results on the triathlon circuit recently but a bad cycling crash a week ago coming after another while following the Tour de France left him unable to run. Despite that he completed the swimming and cycling stages and was well inside the top 10 overall before dropping. Congtratulations also to Debbie Matchett and Andrew Muir who had good runs in the Darragh Cross 6 mile road race, Debbie winning the womens race.
