laganside 1st teamWith the domestic track season gone and cross country a month away, North Down turned full attention to road racing and had at least 16 finishers on Sunday at the Laganside 10K. The girls dominated the womens team race with Julie Balmer 2nd, Jessica Craig 3rd (in her first time over 10K) and Roberta Dornan (after a few weeks recuperation) finishing 2nd, 3rd and 6th.   Their closest challengers in second place were their own B team  of Debbie Matchett 7th, Jodi Smith 8th and Lynne Kerr 12th with a respectable C team of Jill Aicken 21st, Sarah Benton 22nd and Zoe Illingworth or Emma Mooney. The men were 3rd in their team event with Niall Robinson 8th, Francis Marsh 11th and James Budde 20th, North Belfast and Willowfield taking 1st and 2nd teams.  Personal bests abounded despite the strong winds while category wins included Terry Eakin at M60, David Seaton at M65, Niall at M21, Debbie at F40 and Lynne at F45 while Roberta was 2nd F35 and Julie and Jessica 2nd and 3rd open women.
