North Down AC had 9 runners on Saturday in the NIMAA 5K road race with top honours going to Lauren Scott and Terry Eakin taking top honours. Despite the bad weather, Lauren In her first road race of the year took the course apart, winning the womens” race in 17:22 min along with several scalps, burying the North Down record in the process. Terry won the M60 race in 17:59 min, posting the fastest 5K road time by a 60 plus athlete in the UK or Ireland this year. Several other pbs were run including 3rd overall Niall Robinson (15:39), 16 year old Glen Willis (17:08), Darren McKee (17:55), and Debbie Matchett (19:55). Debbie won the F40 category, David Seaton the N65 with Fred Murdock 2nd, with Roberta Dornan 2nd F35.
