Lauren Scott but in a great performance to help Birmingham University take 3rd in the senior womens english xc relay champs at Mansfield. Lauren brought her team home in 7th of 84 teams on leg1 in 10:24. That kept her team in close contention for medals that were secured behind Charnwood & AFD for the 3leg relay. Only 2 athletes broke 10mins for the approx 3k lap (Steph Twell 9:47, Emma Pallant 9:56). Lauren"s next big race is the Irish inter-counties and U23 euro xc trial on 28th Nov. Further South in deepest Surrey, Jordan Stokes helped Herne Hill B team to 2nd in the 6×2.5m reigate xc relays with 14:42 for the hilly circuit. Rounding up the GB uni-based athletes, Robin Brown was a close 2nd (38:47) in the 7.5mile xc CUH&H v TH&H mob match at Wimbledon Common – feeling that a bad stitch cost him the win. Robin"s next big race is also at Gransha on the 28th.
