Jessica Craig and Niall Robinson had good runs, unfortunately in relatively weakened teams, in Maynooth on Saturday at the Irish Universities Road Relay Championships. Jessica ran for University of Ulster in the 2 mile second leg, taking over from Clare Prenter who was 7th after the opening mile. Jessica ran 11:28 min, the 4th fastest leg 2, gaining a place for 6th. The following two runners each conceded a place for a respectable 8th out of 20. In the following race, Niall opened for the Queens mens" team and was 4th (eye witnesses say 3rd) out of 27 in 4:22 min. After 2 more legs, they were still a healthy 7th but lost 7 places over the 4th leg and were 14th after the 5th and final leg. Meanwhile at the Belfast Waterworks in the ParkRun, Jill Aicken was 2nd woman to Breege Connelly, posting a new pb of 21:53 min, indicating the ParkRun series is already starting to achieve its target.
