North Down AC had 8 runners in the Les Jones 10K on Friday evening with a strong performance in the categories. Darren McKee was top club finisher in 36th position in 38:47 min on this notoriously difficult mixed terrain course. Not too far behind was Roberta Dornan who was 2nd to Breege Connolly in the womens race and was first F35. Fred Murdock was 1st M65 while Gary Swenarton was 2nd M60 and Sarah Benton was 2nd F40. Andrew Muir showed no ill effects from his Council election campaign which proved successful. There were 225 finishers with the overall winner Alan O’Hara of North Belfast in 33:32 min.
