Pete Glass was on song in the Canary Islands over the weekend, finishing 2nd in the Arona Decathlon with a massive new pb of 7215 points. Tthe start went well with a new legal 100m pb of 11.19 sec (-0.5) (he has done 11.18 windy) and got better in the long jump with his first time over 7 meters (7.04-0.00) Following with a 13.05m shot, 1.96m high jump (equal pb) and 52.45 for 400m, he ended the first day in third on 3784 pts. He opened Day 2 with 15.12 (-1.2) for 110m hurdles and a discus pb of 41.53m. Coming in the vault at 4.50m, he equalled his pb with 4.60m and threw 50.37m for javelin. After 5:07.65, another pb, in the explosive athletes nightmare event,the 1500m, Pete finished 2nd on 7215.
Despite zero points in the vault, Tom Reynolds posted 5108 pts for 8th. On the first day he had 11.20 (-0.5) for 100m, 7.11m for LJ (0.00), 12.74m for shot, 1.81m for HJ and 51.12 for 400m, closing with 3708 pts. Normally strong on the second day, he posted 15.11 for hurdles and 36.32m for discus before failing his opening vault of 4.40m. Staying in the competition, hoping to support Pete, he finished with 47.93m for javelin and 5:24.11 min for 1500m.
