On Saturdaay, Round 2 of the McCains NI Young Athletes League was switched to Magherafelt, another very exposed track in bad weather which unfortunately it was. North Down had a bigger squad this time, at least enough for 4 of the 6 relays. It was still too small for the large number of events on the programme, but in terms of quality, the results were outstanding. Sprinters and throwers were almost unbeatable but in terms of this league, the need is for bodies and more bodies. Olivia Cumming and Oliver Wakefield led the way with 3 wins, Andrew Kennedy had a B treble and there were double wins galore. Unfortunately the points situation is not as healthy with the club only just inside the qualifying positions in 6th. Girls in particular are needed.
