Amy Foster and Peter Glass both made finals at the Shock Absorber AAA U17 Championships at the weekend. Amy was 6th at 100m in 12.46 and Peter was 7th at 100m hurdles. Stephen Aiken of Lisburn had a good third at 400m in a new pb of 48.63.
Amy was 2nd in her heat in 12.50, 3rd in the semi-final in 12.42 (electric pb) and 6th in the final in 12.46. She did not make the 200m final but was 2nd in the heat in 26.07 and 6th in the semi-final in 25.60
Peter was 2nd in his heat in 13.62 (electric pb) and 7th in the final in 13.86 as well as 8th in javelin with 50.02m. Young Mark Atkinson in the U15’s also made the semi-final, 3rd in his heat in 11.94 (another electric pb) and 8th in the semi in 12.05.
Pete Wickens was 7th in U17 shot with 13.20 and 11th in hammer with 33.34. Scott McCauley was 17th in U17 triple jump with 12.03m, David Keys 13th in hammer with 41.86m and Caroline Oakes 14th in javelin with 27.93.
