Roberta & Francesca lead Ards 5 Mile Challenge.

[Not a valid template]The Ards 5 Mile Challenge took place on Friday with a dozen or so club athletes taking part. The leading club runners were Darren McKee and Douglas Grant in 6^th and 7^th in 29:16 and 29:38 min. In the ladies race Roberta Dornan was an outright winner in 31:10 min with Stephanie Hambling 5^th and Alison Downey 6^th with Francesca Brown 1^st U17 in 35:36.. In the 45 plus veterans category, won by Aaron Stronge in a record time, Stephen Purdie was 5^th. Andrew Muir, Jonathan McGrath and John McGarvey all claimed 5 mile pbs.

The race concluded the Ards Borough Series which also includes the Ards Half Marathon and the Portaferry 10 mile. By our reckoning Roberta Dornan was a clear winner in the ladies section and Douglas Grant should probably retain the mens title he won last year.
